FIELD NOTES / AIRCRAFT
BEFORE YOU BUY.
Aircraft are magical because every control input matters. They are also less forgiving than a truck stuck against a curb. New pilots do well with stable beginner-oriented aircraft, open flying areas, correct setup and a willingness to practice small maneuvers before big ones. Follow local airspace, registration and flight restrictions.
01
Know the local rules
Location, altitude, remote identification and registration requirements depend on the aircraft and country.
02
Choose a calm day
Wind transforms the learning curve. Start with plenty of room and no audience pressure.
03
Respect propellers
Disconnect power before adjustments, and follow the manufacturer’s charging and preflight instructions.
